Q: How much does it cost me?
A: It costs you nothing to take part in the row as an individual or even as a team. We simply ask that every rower, whether you are rowing for multiple hours or rowing for five minutes as part of a team covering an hour, you commit to attempting to get sponsorship for $100 or more.
Q: What if I don’t raise the $100? Am I disqualified?
A: No. As a rower, your commitment is to attempt to raise at least $100. If you don’t raise $100, then raise what you can and take part with everyone else. While there are prizes for the most amount raised, anyone can enjoy the event.
Q: How long do I need to row for?
A: Each gym or club will have a timetable splitting the 24 hours into 1 hour blocks. Some people will book multiple hours and try to get the title of the “Biggest Distance by a Single Rower”, some people will split an hour block into a team and each row 5 minutes and swap for another member of the team. Either is fine – as long as every member registers and commits to the minimum $100 sponsorship and each rowing machine is constantly going for the entire 24 hour period.
